"Went Into Deep, Deep Depression": Priyanka Chopra Reveals Botched Nose Surgery Almost Ended Her Career

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is currently enjoying all the praise that is coming her way for her performance in Prime Video show 'Citadel'. The first two episodes dropped last Friday. While the show is getting mixed response for its storyline, the performances of both the leads -- Richard Madden and Priyanka are being praised. In the latest entertainment news, the actress has revealed that a failed nose surgery left her in "deep, deep depression."
Priyanka Chopra also revealed how she thought her Bollywood career was over. As per the actress, she had found a polyp (tissue growth) and suggested a surgery to get it removed from her nasal cavity.
She then said that during the surgery, the doctor shaved the bridge of her nose accidentally, causing it to collapse and thus altering her face.
“It was a dark phase. This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression,” Priyanka Chopra said on The Howard Stern Show.
She then said that she got into a situation where she did not want to leave the house, and it was then that her father, who himself was a doctor, encouraged her to go back under the knife and get the corrective surgery done.
Priyanka also revealed that she was fired from three films, and she was convinced that her career was "over before it started."
“I was terrified of that, but he was like, ‘I will be in the room with you. He held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence," said Priyanka.
Priyanka Chopra had made her Bollywood debut with 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
“I was supposed to play this lead, and I was shifted to a supporting character. That filmmaker was very kind. He, while the tide was against me, said, ‘It will be a small part but give it your all.’ And I did,'" said Priyanka.
Priyanka Chopra will next be seen in Hollywood movie 'Love Again' with Sam Heughan, Celine Dion and Nick Jonas (in a cameo appearance).
