"Should Be A...": What Vicky Kaushal Said About Sam Bahadur’s Box Office Clash With Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’
Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' will be releasing in theatres on December 1, 2023.
Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal are great friends in real life, and maybe this is the reason, everyone loved the bond they shared in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Sanju' in which Ranbir had essayed the role of Sanjay Dutt. However, this friendship will go through a real test in the coming months as their movies would be releasing on the same day. Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' will be releasing in theatres on December 1, 2023.
For the unversed, 'Sam Bahadur' is directed by Meghna Gulzar and the film is a biopic of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. On the other hand, 'Animal' is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the movie is a hardcore gangster drama.
Recently, 'Sam Bahadur's teaser was launched, and at the grand event in Mumbai, Vicky Kaushal was asked about the upcoming box office clash of the two films.
“On that Friday, we both (Ranbir and I) are going to hand over our films to the audience. So that Friday is going to be the audiences’ day more than our day. Today, we as an industry should give the option of multiple films on the same day to the audience, that’s how we are going to flourish as an industry," Indian Express quoted Vicky Kaushal as saying.
“We have only these many weeks in a year, but we as an industry can’t limit ourselves to making only those many films a year. We will have multiple films and releases on the same day and we want to build an atmosphere where multiple films can work together," he added.
Further speaking about the same, Vicky Kaushal said, "If the audience resonates with the films, both the films will work. I’m as excited for Animal as anyone else. It should be a great day for the audience, we work for that, not for each other."
Talking about 'Sam Bahadur', the film is backed by RSVP, and the movie also stars Sanya Malhotra as Sam Bahadur's wife Siloo, and Fatima Sana Shaikh as former India Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
Neeraj Kabi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are also playing the key roles of Jawaharlal Nehru and Yahya Khan, in the film.
On the other hand, 'Animal' also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna. The movie will be releasing in theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
