The last few weeks have been excellent for the Hindi film industry, particularly after Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ released in theatres on August 11. Both the new Hindi movies have been putting up a strong show even in their second week. Sunny Deol’s comeback film ‘Gadar 2’ has especially proved to be a money spinner, inching closer to the Rs 400 crore mark. With its glorious run at the box office, ‘Gadar 2’ has managed to shatter several records.
And we are sure with all the hype around the massive success of ‘Gadar 2’, you would want to know where it stands in the list of the highest grossing Hindi films of all time.
According to Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s latest tweet, ‘Gadar 2’ has crossed the lifetime collection of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ and has now become the fourth highest grossing Hindi film in India.

Here’s the list of the top 5 highest-grossing Hindi movies of all-time, as collated from various sources including Box Office Collection, Bollywood Hungama, Sacnilk and Joginder Tuteja.
1. Pathaan – Rs 524.50 crore
2. Baahubali 2 – Rs 511 crore
3. KGF 2 – Rs 434.70 crore
4. Gadar 2 – Rs 388.60 crore
5. Dangal – Rs 387.38 crore
Talking about ‘Gadar 2’, the new Hindi movie collected Rs 13.50 crore on its second Monday, taking its total collection to Rs 388.60 crore. The Bollywood film also stars Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma.
‘Gadar 2’, directed by Anil Sharma, revolves around a father Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who would go to any length to bring back his son Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma) from Pakistan where he has been held captive by army general Hamid Iqbal (Manish Wadhwa).
‘Gadar 2’ is the sequel to the 2001 hit ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was also directed by Anil Sharma. It was a blockbuster hit in 2001, when it clashed against the acclaimed hit ‘Lagaan’, which starred Aamir Khan. It finished with Rs 130 crore at the global box office.
‘Gadar 2’ also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rakesh Bedi and Dolly Bindra. The popular songs from the 2001 original, ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ have been recreated for ‘Gadar 2’.
