2023 has been a good year for Bollywood movies. Films like 'Pathaan', 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar', 'The Kerala Story', 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke', 'OMG 2' and 'Gadar 2' have performed well at the box office, signalling happy days for Bollywood. This happiness has now been spread further with the colossal opening of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'. The new Hindi movie directed by Atlee has made a sensational opening, as it registered the highest collection in the first weekend for any Hindi film.
'Jawan' collected more than Rs 250 crore on its opening weekend, and if you add overseas collection as well, then the amount swells up to Rs 520 crore. In the latest entertainment news, 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar on Monday evening congratulated SRK for the massive success of 'Jawan'.

On Monday, even 'The Kashmir Files' actor Anupam Kher congratulated SRK on the massive success of 'Jawan'.
Taking to X, Anupam Kher wrote: "Mere pyare Shah Rukh! Abhi abhi Amritstar me audience ke saath aapki film 'Jawan' dekh kar nikla hu. Luft aa gaya. Action, picture ka scale, aapki ada aur performance bahut he umda hai. Ek do jagah to maine he seeti mar di. Loved everyone in the film. Talking about Akshay Kumar, the year started on a bad note for the actor as his 'Selfiee' tanked at the box office, however, his latest release 'OMG 2' changed things around for him as it collected more than Rs 140 crore at the box office, despite clashing with Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2'.
Speaking of 'Jawan', the movie has been directed by Atlee, and it has been produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. It also features Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan and Aaliyah Qureishi. The new movie also stars Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in cameo appearances.
Billed as a high-octane thriller, ‘Jawan’ follows the story of a man set out to correct the wrongs of society.
The film also touches upon issues like government apathy, corruption, farmers suicide, a healthcare system in shambles, faulty army weapons, and dangerous factories set near residential areas.
