Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' had released in theatres last year but the reactions to the movie keep coming in. At the international festival, fellow actor Prakash Raj had made a comment on the movie, saying it is a "nonsense" film and he also termed people associated with the movie as "shameless". "The Kashmir Files is one of the nonsense films, but we know who produced it. Shameless. International jury spit on them," he had said.

"They are still shameless. The other fellow, the director is still telling, 'Why I am not getting Oscar?' He will not even get a Bhaskar," Prakash Raj further added.

Now, 'The Kashmir Files' actor Anupam Kher has reacted to Prakash Raj's comment, saying some people just have to "lie in their entire lifetime."

"Apni apni aukat ki baat karte hain log. Kuch logo ko zindagi bhar jhooth bolna padta hai, kuch log zindagi bhar sach bolte hain. Main un logo me se hu jo zindagi bhar sach bol k zindagi jiyein hain. Jisko jhooth bol k jeena hai vo uski marzi hai," Anupam Kher told Navbharat Times.

Last year, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid had also slammed 'The Kashmir Files' at the closing ceremony of the 53rd International Film Festival of India.

Lapid was the jury head for the IFFI, and at the closing ceremony of the event, he criticised the Bollywood movie, describing it as “propaganda” and “vulgar”.

In his speech, he said, "We were, all of us, disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt to us like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival."

‘The Kashmir Files’, which released on March 11, 2022, followed the story of the exodus of the Hindu Kashmiri Pandits. Apart from Anupam Kher, the film also starred Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles.
