"As An Artist....": Malayalam Star Prithviraj Sukumaran Reacts To Shah Rukh Khan And Deepika Padukone's 'Pathaan' Controversy
Malayalam actor-filmmamker Prithviraj Sukumaran has expressed solidarity with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
Ever since 'Besharam Rang' song came out, upcoming Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone movie 'Pathaan' has been surrounded by controversy. The song has become a huge topic of debate regarding the costumes and choreography used in the song. Now, Malayalam actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran has expressed his solidarity with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, saying as an artist it makes him sad to see work of artists come under criticism.
“It is unfortunate. As an artist, it makes me sad to see a work of art come under such kind of criticism,” The Indian Express quoted Prithviraj as saying.
Earlier, during a Roundtable session on Film Companion with journalist Anupama Chopra, Prithviraj had only nice things to say about 'Pathaan'.
“There have been times not too long ago when we’ve set down the table & thought, ‘How are they doing it? How is Hindi cinema cracking this? How are they able to open up such huge overseas markets?’ And that was not too long ago. I am not talking about the medieval ages. So, this I truly believe is a phase. There will be one big hit, maybe it’s Pathaan," he said.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham-starrer ‘Pathaan'.
The movie will hit the theatres on January 25, and before the release, the makers dropped the first song titled 'Besharam Rang'. The second 'Jhoome Jo Pathaan' will be released on Thursday.
The teaser for 'Pathaan' was released on November 2, which also happens to be the birth date of Shah Rukh Khan. As soon as the teaser was launched, the fans of 'King Khan' went into overdrive on social media, praising the return of the star.
