The comparison between partition and COVID-19 induced lockdown has not gone down well with the fans and some film critics, and they are taking to Twitter to express their displeasure.
Here are some of the tweets:

Govt imposed Lockdown so that ppl wont carry the virus with them.
But he is showing Govt as the villain.
Akele Anubhav Sinha Pure Bollywood ko gaali dilwayega
So #Bheed compares Covid Lockdown in India with Partition of India in 1947 .. Absolutely RIDICULOUS.. Wondering why our prominent production house & actors becomes part of #AnubhavSinha personal propaganda which brings hate for the industry. pic.twitter.com/Hs1uXLtVy6

Both of them should stop, or both of them should continue. The balance has to be there. Can't term one as factual truth & the other as misleading.
Jitni bheed isme dikhayi he utni theatre me bhi nahi aayegi

Talking about 'Bheed', director Anubhav Sinha told Variety: "‘Bheed’ is a story of the most perilous times which changed everything for humanity. The key objective of shooting the film in black and white was to showcase how the visuals of the social disparity during India’s lockdown were strikingly similar to what people went through during the 1947 India partition."
"This story is about people whose lives changed in a snap and the colors from their lives were lost when the border was drawn within the country," he added.
The movie is being produced by T-Series and Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks.
The cast of 'Bheed' includes Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, Virendra Saxena, Aditya Shrivastava, Kritika Kamra and Karan Pandit.
The movie is slated to release in the theatres on March 24.
