When Hansal Mehta's 'Faraaz' released in the theatres earlier this year, the new Hindi movie was not able to find many shows in the theatres and hence the audience also did not turn in big numbers to watch the engaging drama. However, the latest Hindi movie premiered on Netflix some days back, and the film is now registering high viewing numbers on the streaming platform. In the latest Bollywood movies, 'Faraaz' has managed to stay at the top of Netflix India's charts for seven days straight, when it comes to movies.

Director Hansal Mehta also reacted seeing this achievement, and taking to Twitter, he wrote: "#Faraaz is at #1 on @NetflixIndia for the 7th consecutive day. A film without stars, with no PR, no publicity, not a Netflix original resonates with so many viewers around the world. Thank you @NetflixIndia for making our little film BIG. Gratitude."

For the unversed, 'Faraaz' is a hostage drama that is set over the course of one night in Dhaka.

As per the latest hindi movie news, the film has an ensemble cast with the likes of Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali Aditya Rawal, Zahan Kapoor, Jatin Sarin, Pallak Lalwani, and few newcomers such as Jatin Sarin, Reshham Sahaani, Ninaad Bhatt, Harshal Pawar, Sachin Lalwani.

'Faraaz' depicts the 2016 Dhaka attack that ended up shaking entire Bangladesh. The film had also premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on 15 October 2022.

According to the latest hindi movie news, after ‘Faraaz’ released in the theatres, the movie was criticised for allegedly exploiting a tragedy for profit without asking the permission from the victims’ family.

'Faraaz' ended up getting positive reviews from the critics, and looks like, the movie has finally found its audience on Netflix.
