'Bholaa' collects Rs 44 crore in its extended weekend.

Hopes were high from Ajay Devgn and Tabu-starrer 'Bholaa'. Releasing on the occasion of Ram Navami, the new Hindi Bollywood movie had the boost of releasing on a holiday, then having the weekend coming up. However, the film has not been able to post good numbers in its extended 4-day weekend, and now it needs to be seen whether the new Hindi Bollywood movie fares well on the weekdays. On Sunday, the movie collected more than Rs 13.48 crore, taking the four-day tally to a little more than Rs 44 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection of the film, saying IPL 2023 might have affected the collection.

"#Bholaa puts up a healthy score in its extended 4-day weekend… The spike on Sat and Sun added strength to its overall total… Thu 11.20 cr, Fri 7.40 cr, Sat 12.20 cr, Sun 13.48 cr. Total: ₹ 44.28 cr. #India biz," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#Bholaa needs to maintain the momentum over weekdays… In fact, it’s the performance on weekdays that will determine where it’s headed. The #Ramadan period as well as #IPL2023 have impacted its biz, to an extent… However, the holidays ahead - Tue [#MahavirJayanti] and Fri [#GoodFriday] - may prove advantageous. Lack of prominent releases [till #KBKJ on #Eid] is another advantage that #Bholaa enjoys," he said in the same tweet.

'Bholaa' has recorded the third best opening for a Hindi film in 2023 after 'Pathaan' and 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar'.

'Bholaa' has been directed by Ajay Devgn. The actor had previously directed 'U Me Aur Hum' in 2008, 'Shivaay' in 2016 and 'Runway 34' in 2022.

'Bholaa' is the ninth collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Tabu. The duo has previously starred in movies like 'Drishyam', 'Drishyam 2', 'Golmaal Again', 'De De Pyaar De' and 'Vijaypath'.

'Kaithi' which is the source material for 'Bholaa', went on to become a blockbuster in 2019 when it released and the movie also received critical acclaim.

The Tamil film revolved around an ex-convict named Karthi, deciding to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from prison, but he ends up being caught in a battle between police and drug mafia.
