Box office report: 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' crosses Rs 100 crore mark.

The movie buffs were in for a treat over the weekend as they had three releases to choose from -- 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar', 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway' and 'Zwigato'. Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' which had released on March 8, has finally crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The new Hindi Bollywood movie earned more than Rs 15 crore combined on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and hence the overall tally of the movie now stands at Rs 109.14 crore.

'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' is now the second Hindi movie this year to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office after Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan'.

Talking about Rani Mukerji's 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway' showed growth over the weekend and the movie managed to earn Rs 6.42 crore inside three days.

"#MrsChatterjeeVsNorway goes from strength to strength with each passing day… Momentum on Day 2 and 3 is a positive indicator… National chains dominate… All eyes on weekdays… Fri 1.27 cr, Sat 2.26 cr, Sun 2.89 cr. Total: ₹ 6.42 cr. #India biz. #MCVN," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

Talking about Kapil Sharma's 'Zwigato', the movie did not show growth, but the overall business remains "low". The movie has just managed to earn Rs 1.84 crore.

"#Zwigato finds appreciation from its target audience, but the #BO remains lacklustre… Although biz did improve on Day 2 and 3, the overall 3-day total is extremely low… Fri 43 lacs, Sat 62 lacs, Sun 79 lacs. Total: ₹ 1.84 cr. #India biz," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

It is important to mention that both 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway' and 'Zwigato' released in less number of theatres as compared to 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar'.

It would be interesting to see how these films fair at the box office once Ajay Devgn's 'Bholaa' releases on March 30.
