"Committee Unbiased": Censor Board Chief Prasoon Joshi On Advising Changes To SRK's 'Pathaan'

On Thursday, the Censor Board asked the makers of 'Pathaan' to make a few changes to the movie and submit a revised version before the release.

Ever since the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) announced that they have asked the makers of 'Pathaan' to implement few changes in the movie, including the songs before the release, fans are speculating on whether the saffron coloured-swimsuit of Deepika Padukone in the song 'Besharam Rang'. For the unversed, a huge row erupted after 'Besharam Rang' released and Deepika Padukone was seen dancing alongside Shah Rukh Khan in a saffron-coloured swimsuit.

However, when Censor Board chairman Prasoon Joshi was asked about the same, he gave a somewhat cryptic reply.

"As far as costume colours are concerned, the committee has stayed unbiased. When the film comes out, the reflection of this balanced approach will be clear to everyone," NDTV quoted Joshi as saying.

On Thursday, the Censor Board asked the makers of 'Pathaan' to make a few changes in the movie and submit a revised version before the release.

“The film recently reached the CBFC examination committee for certification and went through the due and thorough examination process as per the board’s guidelines. Pathaan went through the due and through examining process as per the CBFC guidelines. The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version prior to theatrical release," Joshi said in the official statement.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra had asked the makers of 'Pathaan' to change the costumes in the song 'Besharam Rang'.

'Pathaan' is slated to hit the theatres on January 25. Apart from Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone, the Siddharth Anand-directorial also stars John Abraham as the antagonist.
