Starring Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi, the Bollywood movie follows the journey of two plus-sized women. But do you know who convinced Shikhar Dhawan to appear in a cameo role in ‘Double XL’? It was none other than Huma Qureshi’s brother Saqib Saleem. In an interview with Hindustan Times, ‘Double XL’ director Satram Ramani revealed how Saqib Saleem convinced Shikhar Dhawan to come on board for the movie.
While speaking about the casting, the director said that in the film, Huma Qureshi's character's dream is to become a sports presenter and the relevant part of the dream needed a cricketer.
Satram Ramani said that he is fond of Shikhar Dhawan, and sees him as an alpha male, “who fits in both the desi league and the elite club.” But the director was not sure if the cricketer would want to appear in the movie.
Revealing how Saqib Saleem convinced Shikhar Dhawan for the cameo appearance, Satram Ramani shared that the Bollywood actor called the cricketer, who was pretty open to the role.
The director added that Shikhar Dhawan liked the movie idea and said, “this film should be made”.
