It was on March 7, 2013 when Kangana Ranaut's Bollywood movie 'Queen' released in the theatres. The Hindi Bollywood movie went on to become such a huge success that it provided a big boost to Kangana Ranaut's career as well as female-centric movies in mainstream Indian cinema. The Bollywood movie was lauded for its plot and many critics at that time, had labelled the Hindi movie as a groundbreaking and influential feminist film. On Tuesday, 'Queen' clocked in seven years, and Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to post a series of tweets, and she highlighted how the film changed her "life and Indian cinema." Taking to Twitter, Kangana Ranaut wrote: "After almost a decade long struggle I was told I am too good an actor to be a Bollywood leading lady, curly hair and vulnerable voice made it worse, I signed Queen thinking this will never release, signed it for money with that money I went to film school in Newyork."

Kangana Ranaut also revealed that she went to New York to study screenwriting, and she also directed a small film at the age of 24. She also spoke about how she had buried all her acting ambitions and she did not even have the courage to return to India. 

"In New york I studied screenwriting, directed a small film in California at the age of 24 which gave me a breakthrough in Hollywood, after seeing my work a big agency hired me as a director, I buried all my acting ambitions, did not have the courage to return to India," tweeted Kangana Ranaut. 

"Bought a small house in the outskirts of LA in Calabasas, just when I left everything, Queen released, changed my life and Indian Cinema forever marked the Birth of a new leading lady and woman centric parallel cinema," she said in another tweet.

Lastly, she said: "Queen is not just a film for me, it was an explosion of everything I ever deserved was kept away from me for 10 long years, everything came all at ones, it was overwhelming, I truly believe what is ours no one can take away hang in their you will get your due #7yearsofqueen."

'Queen' which had released in 2013, was directed by Vikas Bahl, and the movie told the story of a girl named Rani Mehra who goes on her honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam by herself after her fiancee calls off their wedding. 

The Hindi Bollywood movie was named as one of the best films of Indian cinema by The Oprah Magazine and Cosmopolitan.

Talking about Kangana Ranaut in the latest Bollywood news -- she has multiple projects lined up. The actress will be seen in her upcoming film ‘Emergency’, in which she stars as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana is also directing the film.

Kangana Ranaut will also be seen in ‘Chandramukhi 2’, a sequel to Rajinikanth's Tamil blockbuster. She also has the new Hindi Bollywood movie ‘Tejas’ and Pradeep Sarkar-directed biopic on ‘Noti Binodini’. She's also producing the new Hindi Bollywood movie ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, starring Avneet Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
