"Don't Consider Kangana Important…": Javed Akhtar Brushes Aside Actress' Praise For Schooling Pakistani Journalist

In response to Kangana Ranaut's praise after his comments to a Pakistani journalist, Javed Akhtar said that he doesn’t consider the actress “as important”.

Javed Akhtar responds to Kangana Ranaut's praise!

Writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar has been in the news recently after he schooled Pakistani journalists in Lahore as they wanted him to go back to India and spread the message of how Pakistan is a friendly country. The answer of Javed Akhtar, earned him praise from actress Kangana Ranaut, who said: "Ghar me ghuss ke mara." After his video of schooling Pakistani journalist went viral on social media, Javed Akhtar gave an interview to NDTV and it was then that he was asked about Kangana's comment.

When the anchor first asked him about Kangana Ranaut, Javed Akhtar said: "What's your next question?"

When pressed further, he said: "I don't consider Kangana as important so how can she important remark, forget about that."

Javed Akhtar had visited Pakistan to attend a festival organised in the memory of renowned Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. 

Responding to the question of Pakistani journalist, Javed Akhtar said: "Jo garam hai fiza, woh kam honi chahiye. Hum toh Bambaiye log hain. Hamne dekha wahan kaise hamla hua tha. Wo log Norway se toh nahi aaye the naa Egypt se aaye the, wo log abhi bhi aapke mulk me ghum rahe hain. Toh ye shikayat agar Hindustani ke dil me ho toh aapko bura nahi manna chahiye."

As per the Indian Express, Javed Akhtar had also reminded Pakistani journalists that while India has welcomed artists like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hasan, Pakistan never hosted a Lata Mangeshkar show.

In 2008, a terror attack took place in Mumbai, also known as 26/11 attack. The attack resulted in death of about 175 people. A series of orchestrated attacks took place on prominent locations in Mumbai, including the famous Taj hotel.
