Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone celebrated Argentina's World Cup triumph.

Argentina and France played out one of the most exciting FIFA World Cup finals ever, and in a match that ebbed and flowed throughout, Argentina came out on top after defeating France 4-2 on penalties. As a result, Lionel Messi's wait for a World Cup title came to an end and there was joy all around. After the game was level at 3-3 after the end of extra time, the match went into penalties.

Heading into the fourth penalty, Argentina needed to score, and Gonzalo Montiel did just that. There were several Indian celebrities who were in attendance for the summit clash at the Lusail Stadium. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone watched the match together.

As soon as Montiel converted his penalty, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone hugged each other and the husband-wife duo celebrated emphatically.

The video of the incident has now gone viral on Twitter.

On Monday, Ranveer Singh shared several Instagram stories, where he can be seen enjoying the match alongside Deepika Padukone.

Ranveer Singh who is an ardent supporter of Premier League club Arsenal, also got clicked with former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

On the other hand, Deepika Padukone became the first Indian celebrity to unveil the FIFA World Cup trophy before the final. She presented the coveted trophy alongside former Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup after defeating France 4-2 on penalties. Lionel Messi won the Golden Ball while Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot.

The normal 90-minute action had concluded 2-2 and hence the match had to go to extra-time. Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria scored goals in the first-half and with just 15 minutes left in the game, it was looking like Argentina will take the title home.

However, Kylian Mbappe had other plans as he came up with two goals inside three minutes to bring the scoreline level at 2-2. In extra time, Messi scored once again, giving Argentina 3-2 lead. However, a penalty in the 117th minute, helped Mbappe register his hat-trick and bring the scoreline level at 3-3.

In the end, it was Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who did better than his counterpart Hugo Lloris, and hence it was Argentina won went on to win the World Cup, their first in 36 years.
