One of the best footballers to ever play the sport, Pele, passed away on Thursday night. The Brazil forward mesmerised fans from all across the globe during his playing days and he was even labelled "the greatest" by FIFA. Pele is the only player in the history of the sport who has won the World Cup three times. The Brazil star passed away aged 82. Ever since the news of his demise surfaced, reactions have been coming in and the Indian film industry is also paying their condolences.

The likes of Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan shared the picture of Pele on their respective Instagram stories, and they paid their respect to the World Cup-winning Brazil star.

Pele had been fighting colon cancer and he was admitted to a hospital for respiratory problem on November 29 this year. 

Pele was born on October 23, 1940 and he rose to fame after starring in Brazil's World Cup victory in 1958.

Pele had registered a hat-trick in the semi-final against France and he then came up with a brace in the final against Sweden to help Brazil win their first World Cup trophy.

He was then a part of World Cup-winning teams in 1962 and 1970. In his entire World Cup career, Pele scored a total of 12 goals.

Pele is the joint-highest goalscorer for Brazil with 77 goals to his name. His record was tied in this year's FIFA World Cup by Neymar. 

Pele had been married thrice and he has a total of seven children.
