Kangana Ranaut Compares Herself To Lata Mangeshkar, Says “Denied Insane Amount Of Money” Like Late Iconic Singer
Kangana Ranaut has compared herself to late iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar, making a bizarre claim. Take a look at what she said!
Kangana Ranaut, known for her bold, provocative and often inflammatory statements, has once again made a bizarre comment. The ‘Queen’ actress, who has given us many unforgettable songs like ‘London Thumakda’, ‘Ghani Bawri’, and ‘Sadi Gali’, said that she has denied “insane amount of money” offered to her for dancing at weddings and private parties. The Bollywood actress shared a throwback video of singer Asha Bhosle talking about how late singer Lata Mangeshkar was against this practice as well.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana Ranaut shared a small clip of Asha Bhosle from a reality show. The video shows the evergreen Indian playback singer talking about how her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar was once offered a million dollars to sing at a wedding, but she refused the offer.
Talking about the offer, Asha Bhosle can be seen saying in the video, “Kaha 2 ghante sirf aap darshan dijiye humari shadi mein… (just come to our wedding for 2 hours, they had said to her).”
Kangana Ranaut, sharing this video on IG Stories, wrote, "Agree. Even I never danced in weddings or private parties, even though I have the most popular songs…denied insane amount of money…glad to come across this video… Lataji truly so inspiring."

Lata Mangeshkar, the legendary singer, died in February 2022. She was 92 when she breathed her last. Also called the Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar is known for songs like ‘Hothon Main Aisi Baat’, ‘Piya Tose’, Jiya Jale’ and ‘Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna’.
Kangana Ranaut had objected when the late singer was not offered a tribute at the Grammy Awards and at the Oscars, which were both held days after her death.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana Ranaut is shooting for her directorial, ‘Emergency’. Apart from serving as the director of the Bollywood movie, Kangana also stars in the film as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Besides Kangana Ranaut, the upcoming period drama also features Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Shreyas Talpade and Bhumika Chawla.
