Mrunal Thakur had recently become a trending topic on social media after she shared a photo of herself crying. The photo was shared online by many users, and now the 'Sita Ramam' actress has opened up on how she was going through "emotional turmoil." She also revealed that she was going through a tough phase both professionally and personally. “There are times when I end up posting a happy picture, but I don’t feel the same. The day I posted that picture, I woke up feeling powerful, happy and courageous enough to know that no problem can put you down in life. There are days when we end up losing our self-esteem, confidence and we question our worth," Mrunal told Bombay Times.

"Self-doubt takes over. In a world where there’s an overdose of information and opinions, there are so many voices around you that you stop listening to your inner voice. It takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable in front of the world," she added.

Last month, Mrunal Thakur had taken to her Instagram story, where she talked about being "naive" and "vulnerable". She also shared a photo of herself, in which she was crying.

"There are people who need help as far as mental health is concerned. It’s a sensitive topic and can be misinterpreted. That is a separate conversation altogether. Depression is a big word that needs a deeper understanding and shouldn’t be used casually. My intention was to normalise feeling low," said Mrunal Thakur.

"We tend to bury these feelings deep inside and don’t want to hear or talk about them. That needs to change. Accepting that you aren’t feeling great can only help you resolve it. I want to tell the world that I am not afraid to show or say what I feel, and you shouldn’t either," she added.

Talking about Mrunal Thakur’s career, she began her acting career with the TV show ‘Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan’. She was also a part of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.

The Bollywood actress made her Hindi film debut with ‘Love Sonia’. She later starred in ‘Super 30’ and ‘Batla House’.

Mrunal Thakur was last seen in 'Gumraah' alongside Aditya Roy Kapur. Touted to be a crime-thriller, the movie released in the cinemas on April 7.

The Bollywood actress also has 'Pippa' with Ishaan Khatter in the pipeline.
