It has been a long time since a riveting Bollywood film came out, regarding a true story when it comes to Indian sport. Looks like, the wait is over as the teaser for Ajay Devgn-starrer 'Maidaan' was released on Thursday. The new Hindi Bollywood movie promises to be an engaging drama. For the unversed, 'Maidaan' stars Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, who is regarding as the architect of modern Indian football.
The one-and-a-half minute ‘Maidaan’ teaser is set in the "golden age of Indian football" and it opens at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics.
Then the ‘Maidaan’ teaser showcases how India is set to face Yugoslavia in a nearly flooded pitch. All the Indian players are barefoot.

In the ‘Maidaan’ teaser, we can also spot shots of large stadiums and at one point, Ajay Devgn's character can be seen waiting in the tunnel and there is another scene of riots.
The official synopsis of 'Maidaan' reads: "The true story of an unknown hero who created history and records for India such that even 60 years later, we are not able to match upto those accomplishments in the most played sport in the world, football.”
The teaser ends with Ajay Devgn giving a rousing speech which goes as: "Aaj Maidaan mein utarna gyarah, lekin dikhna 1.”
'Maidaan' stars Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh.
The film has been produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla.
'Maidaan' will release in the theatres on June 23 this year. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film while Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah are serving as the writers.
