"My Favourite...": Ajay Devgn On Akshay Kumar Playing Role Of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in a new Marathi film.
Actor Akshay Kumar will be playing the role of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the upcoming Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. On Tuesday, Akshay Kumar had released a sneak peek of the movie in which he can be seen donning the get-up of Shivaji Maharaj. He also made an announcement, saying that the shooting of the movie has begun.
A few minutes later, Ajay Devgn reacted to the announcement, saying he is looking forward to seeing Akshay Kumar playing this particular role.

Akshay retweeted Ajay Devgn's comment, and replied: "Thank you Bhai."

On Tuesday, Akshay Kumar had taken to Instagram to share the first glimpse into his character.
On Instagram, Akshay posted a caption in Hindi, saying: "Aaj Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat ki shooting kar raha hoon, jisme Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji ki bhoomika kar paana mere liye saubhagya hain. Mein unke jeevan se prerna le kar aur maa Jijau ke ashirwad se mera prayas karoonga. Aashirwad banaye rakhiyega."
He then shared a video and wrote, "Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji."
Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and the movie is a Marathi flick based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
The movie will be released in multiple languages and as per reports, the film will hit the theatres on Diwali 2023.
