"Need Excuse To Romance, To Kiss”: Shah Rukh Khan On ‘Pathaan’ Co-Star Deepika Padukone
During the ‘Pathaan’ media session, the chemistry between SRK and Deepika Padukone was just incredible!
Ever since launching Deepika Padukone in 'Om Shanti Om' in 2007, Shah Rukh Khan has developed quite a bond with Deepika Padukone. After 'Om Shanti Om', Deepika Padukone and SRK starred in movies like 'Chennai Express', 'Happy New Year' and now 'Pathaan'. The latest film has gone on to become a huge success at the box office, and the ‘Pathaan’ movie has already minted more than Rs 500 crore at the global box office.
Yash Raj Films on Monday organised a special event with 'Pathaan' stars -- SRK, Deepika, John Abraham and director Siddharth Anand. During the session, the chemistry between SRK and Deepika Padukone was just incredible.
"You know me and Deepika just need an excuse to romance, to hug, to kiss. So any question you ask me, I will just kiss Deepika Padukone's hand and that will be the answer," said SRK during the start of the event.
During the course of the event, SRK also sang 'Main Agar Kahoon' from 'Om Shanti Om' for Deepika. When asked whether SRK sang for her on the sets of 'Pathaan', Deepika said: "No, this time he fed me on the sets. Pizzas. Unfortunately, I was on very strict diet so I could not have the pizzas."
When asked about her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone said: "Well it was interesting, the chemistry was so palpable but characters were so different. What made it special was the relationship. The love and trust that we share. I have great respect for him as an artist and even as a human being."
"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Shah Rukh. He has given me confidence. It is that relationship that eventually translates on screen," she added.
'Pathaan' is SRK and Deepika's fourth film together. Deepika Padukone had made her debut in 'Om Shanti Om'. All the four movies have been huge successes at the box office, and with 'Pathaan', the duo's track record remains intact.
'Pathaan' had released in the theatres on January 25, and inside five days, the movie has made more than Rs 270 crore at the domestic box office while globally, it has minted more than Rs 500 crore.
