"Tsunami Loading": 'Pathaan' Advance Booking Expected To Give Shah Rukh Khan A Flying Start At Box Office
'Pathaan' starring SRK, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone is slated to release on the big screen on January 25.
Once a king, always a king! This phrase cannot be more true for Shah Rukh Khan, who will return to the big screen after a gap of more than four years. 'Pathaan' starring SRK, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone is slated to release on the big screen on January 25 and the advance booking for the movie opened in India on Friday. However, there were some centres who opened advanced booking in select theatres and the response was beyond amazing.
It has now come to light that 'Pathaan' managed to sell more than 1 lakh tickets in just three major cinema chains -- PVR, INOX and Cinepolis -- till Thursday, 11:30 PM.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the development on Twitter, saying: "#Pathaan advance booking status at national chains… Update till Thursday, 11.30 pm…#PVR: 51,000, #INOX: 38,500, #Cinepolis: 27,500. Total tickets sold: 1,17,000. #BO Tsunami loading."

Director Siddharth Anand had earlier revealed that SRK, John and Deepika would not promote 'Pathaan' before it releases in theatres.
“SRK. Just these 3 letters spell so much stardom, so much love and are just so iconic. The entire nation has loved him for so long and we are hopeful that our film will deliver on the promise to give a never seen before SRK to audiences. We want the euphoria around his return to reach a crescendo by Jan 25, the release date of Pathaan. Thus, we will start all our promotional activities only post the release of the film. We are all humbled to be receiving the unanimous love that we are getting for Pathaan so far and we can’t thank people enough," said Anand.
'Pathaan' marks SRK’s return to the big screen after four long years. He was last seen in a full-length feature film in 2018 in 'Zero' opposite Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
'Pathaan', is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. All the assets of the film that YRF has released so far have turned out to be superhits right from the teaser, the two songs - 'Besharam Rang' and 'Jhoome Jo Pathaan' - and the recently dropped trailer that caused an internet meltdown.
