Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial 'The Kashmir Files', which hit theatres in March 2022, has once again become a hot topic of debate after Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid slammed the movie at the closing ceremony of 53rd International Film Festival of India. Lapid was the jury head for the IFFI, and at the closing ceremony of the event, he criticised the Bollywood movie, describing it as “propaganda” and “vulgar”. A day after the remarks, Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter and seemingly reacted to the comments by sharing a cryptic post.

"GM. Truth is the most dangerous thing. It can make people lie. #CreativeConsciousness," tweeted Agnihotri.

Vivek Agnihotri's reaction came after 'The Kashmir Files' actor Anupam Kher slammed the IFFI jury head for his comments.

In a tweet by ANI, Kher was quoted as saying, "If holocaust is right, the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits is right too. Seems pre-planned as immediately after that the toolkit gang became active. May God give him wisdom."

The entire row erupted after Nadav Lapid criticised ‘The Kashmir Files’ at IFFI’s closing ceremony.

In his speech, he had said, "We were, all of us, disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt to us like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival."

‘The Kashmir Files’, which released on March 11, 2022, followed the story of exodus of the Hindu Kashmiri Pandits. Apart from Anupam Kher, the film also starred Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles.
