Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Raniganj’, Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Thank You For Coming’ Fail First Monday Test. Check Bollywood Box Office Collection
Akshay Kumar’s 'Mission Raniganj' and Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Thank You For Coming’ are struggling to pull people to the theatres.
New Hindi movies, ‘Mission Raniganj’, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, and ‘Thank You For Coming’ featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, and more, are struggling to maintain their grip at the ticket counters. The new Bollywood films have so far witnessed no growth, registering barely any footfalls in the cinema halls on their first Monday. ‘Mission Raniganj’, also starring Parineeti Chopra, collected around Rs 1.25 crore on its first Monday, as per early estimates reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.
Meanwhile, ‘Thank You For Coming’ recorded even disastrous numbers on the fourth day since its release. As per Sacnilk, the Karan Boolani directorial earned Rs 40 lakh (early estimates) on Monday. The current total of ‘Mission Raniganj’ stands at Rs 13.85 crore. Meanwhile, ‘Thank You For Coming’ has not even been able to surpass the Rs 5 crore mark yet, minting only Rs 4.82 crore in four days.
On the other hand, ‘Fukrey 3’ earned Rs 1.41 crore on Monday. Overall, it has earned Rs. 77.87 crore in India. Talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’, it is unstoppable at the box office. The Atlee directorial, which released on September 7, added Rs 1.05 crore on day 33 to its total domestic collection, which now stands at Rs 625.03 crore.
Coming back to Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s ‘Mission Raniganj’, the new Hindi movie also stars Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
The new Hindi movie has been directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, while it has been produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor.
For the unversed, 'Mission Raniganj' is based on a real-life incident that happened in Raniganj Coalfields, West Bengal, in 1989. During that time, 64 miners were trapped in a flooded coal mine, and engineer Jaswant Singh Gill ended up risking his life to rescue the miners.
Meanwhile, ‘Thank You For Coming’ also stars Kusha Kapila, Shibani Bedi and Dolly Singh. The film is about a 30-year-old woman Kanika, played by Bhumi Pednekar, and her quest for real love and orgasm.
The coming-of-age comedy is directed by Karan Boolani from a script penned by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh. It is produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.
