Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ Continues Its Stunning Run, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ Hits Half Century
‘Animal’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is proving to be a massive box office success, while Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ has raced past the Rs 50 crore mark.
Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for the hit Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ and its blockbuster Hindi remake ‘Kabir Singh’, came out with his third directorial venture ‘Animal’. The new Hindi movie, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, is proving to be a massive box office success. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has been making and breaking box office records since it released in cinemas on December 1 alongside Meghna Gulzar’s latest directorial ‘Sam Bahadur’, starring Vicky Kaushal.
While ‘Animal’ is showing no signs of slowing down, ‘Sam Bahadur’ is holding well amid the buzz surrounding the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial. ‘Animal’ minted Rs 37 crore across all languages on its Day 10 (second Sunday) in India, as per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk.
Now, the total domestic nett collection of ‘Animal’ stands at a whopping Rs 432.27 crore. The new Hindi movie has already surpassed the collection of some of the biggest hits of 2023 – ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, ‘The Kerala Story’, and ‘Tiger 3’.
‘Animal’ has had a better second Sunday than both Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 blockbusters, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. While the former made Rs 28.5 crore, the latter minted Rs 36.85 crore.
As per The Indian Express, ‘Animal’ has surpassed Rs 700 crore globally. With this, ‘Animal’ has now defeated ‘Sanju’ to become the most successful film of Ranbir Kapoor’s career. ‘Sanju’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has a worldwide collection of Rs 588.50 crore.
Meanwhile’, ‘Sam Bahadur’ is also holding its ground amid the massive buzz around ‘Animal’. The Meghna Gulzar directorial, co-starring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, earned Rs 7.50 crore as per early estimates posted by Sacnilk.
With its second Sunday collection, ‘Sam Bahadur’ has finally crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. The total domestic collection of the Vicky Kaushal starrer now stands at Rs 56.55 crore. The global collection of the Meghna Gulzar directorial now stands at Rs 66.4 crore.
Both the new Hindi movies, ‘Animal’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’, now have a free 10-day run, before Shah Rukh Khan’s third film of the year, ‘Dunki’ arrives in cinemas. A day later, on December 22, Prabhas’ actioner ‘Salaar’ will hit theatres.
