Yami Gautam, Priyamani's 'Article 370' Opens Well Owing To Discounted Prices, Here's How Much It Made On Day 1

Yami Gautam and Priyamani-starrer 'Article 370' released in theatres on Friday, February 23 and it looks like the new Hindi movie will emerge as a surprise box office hit. In the latest entertainment news, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Article 370 ' minted Rs 5.75 crore on the opening day of its release, and the film had an overall 42.8 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday. For the unversed, the film is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale while it has been bankrolled by 'Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar'.
Jaipur recorded the highest Hindi occupancy, followed by Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Chennai. Most theatres in India were running a special discount for all films on Friday, owing to Cinema Lovers Day, and tickets for all movies were available at a discounted price of Rs 99.
In 'Article 370', Yami Gautam plays the role of an intelligence officer. The story of the movie revolves around the abrogation of Article 370, which revoked the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir.
Apart from Yami Gautam and Priyamani, 'Arficle 370' also stars Arun Govil, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Skand Thakur, Ashwini Koul, and Kiran Karmarkar.
Speaking of 'Crakk' which also released in cinemas on February 23, minted Rs 4 crore on the opening day of its release, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. However, it is important to mention that the Vidyut Jammwal, Arjun Rampal, Nora Fatehi, and Amy Jackson-starrer has opened to poor reviews, so it needs to be seen whether the movie manages to show any growth over the weekend or not.
Talking about Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' which released in cinemas on February 9, the new Hindi movie minted Rs 2.30 crore on Friday, which was the 15th day of its release. As per Sacnilk, the total nett domestic of 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' now stands at Rs 68.30 crore.
Lastly, it is important to give you an update about the collection of Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor-starrer 'Fighter' as well. The movie directed by Siddharth Anand, which released on January 25, minted Rs 0.80 crore on Friday, which was the 30th day of its release.
The total nett domestic collection of 'Fighter' now stands at Rs 209.75 crore, as per Sacnilk. The movie has already gone past the Rs 350 crore mark in terms of worldwide collection.
