Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri’s ‘Bad Newz’ Witnesses Significant Drop On Monday, Nears Rs 35 Crore Mark
‘Bad Newz’ still managed to do respectable business at the box office, despite witnessing a significant drop on Monday.
Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk-starrer ‘Bad Newz’, directed by Anand Tiwari, released in cinemas on Friday (July 19). And ever since its release, the new Hindi movie is doing respectable business at the box office. After collecting almost Rs 30 crore in its opening weekend, the new Hindi movie registered a drop of 68.61 per cent on Monday, the fourth day of its release. On Monday, ‘Bad Newz’ minted Rs 3.50 crore. And the total nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 33.20 crore.
On the fourth day of its release, ‘Bad Newz’ had an overall 13.65 per cent occupancy. The makers have announced a BOGO (buy one get one) offer for Tuesday, and everyone associated with the new Hindi movie would hope for steady collections to continue over the weekdays.
‘Bad Newz’, backed by Karan Johar, will face tough competition from Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer 'Deadpool & Wolverine' when it releases in cinemas this Friday (July 26).
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has already sold more than 1,00,000 tickets across national cinema chains for the opening day. As per Sacnilk, 'Deadpool & Wolverine' has so far sold 1,41,049 tickets for the opening day, grossing Rs 4.45 crore.
For the unversed, 'Bad Newz' is based on a biological phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation.
Coming to Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira', released in cinemas on July 12, minted Rs 0.25 crore on Monday, the 11th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the new Hindi movie now stands at Rs 21.45 crore.
'Sarfira' was released in cinemas alongside Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2', directed by Shankar. The new Tamil film minted Rs 1.16 crore on Monday, the eleventh day of its release, as per Sacnilk. The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 76.81 crore, across all languages.
Coming to Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the pan-India film minted Rs 2 crore on Monday (26th day of its release), as per Sacnilk. The total domestic film collection now stands at Rs 618.85 crore.
Lastly, speaking of Raghav Juyal and Lakshya's 'Kill', which has been backed by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, minted Rs 0.30 crore on Monday (the 18th day of its release). As per Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of the film currently stands at Rs 20.45 crore.
