'Fukrey 3' Outperforms Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Vaccine War' At Box Office On Day 1
Here's how much 'Fukrey 3' and 'The Vaccine War' made on the opening day of their release.
After a string of Hindi movies including, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, ‘OMG 2’, ‘Gadar 2’, and ‘Jawan’, set the cash registers ringing, two new Bollywood movies released recently. 'Fukrey 3' and 'The Vaccine War' arrived in cinemas on Thursday (September 28), and fans have been wanting to know which movie performed better on the opening day of its release. Finally, the box office numbers are in, and 'Fukrey 3' has emerged victorious on the opening day of its release.
'Fukrey 3', starring Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, and Manjot Singh, made Rs 8.50 crore, as per early estimates reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.
As per Bollywood Hungama, 'Fukrey Returns' had collected Rs 8.10 crore on its opening day in 2017, and in total, the movie made Rs 80.32 crore.
On the other hand, Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial venture 'The Vaccine War' had a very slow start at the domestic box office, as it made only Rs 0.85 crore on its opening day, as per early estimates reported by Sacnilk.
For the unversed, Vivek Agnihotri's last release 'The Kashmir Files' had collected Rs 3.55 crore on the opening day of its release. But over its first weekend, the movie managed to make Rs 27.15 crore, and as of now, it looks unlikely that 'The Vaccine War' will be able to match up to this number.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Jawan' released in theatres on September 7, and is still continuing to mint money. The movie, directed by Atlee, saw a jump in collections on Thursday as it made Rs 5.50 crore, as compared to Rs 4.90 crore on Wednesday. The total collection of 'Jawan' across all languages stands at Rs 581.43 crore.
'Jawan' also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and Priyamani. The movie also features cameos by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
Talking about 'Fukrey 3', the movie is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and it has been produced under Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment.
On the other hand, 'The Vaccine War' stars Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles and the new Hindi movie is being touted as India's "first-ever bio-science film" which is also a true story.
