Will Jr NTR’s ‘Devara’ Deliver Rs 100 Crore Worldwide Opening?

‘Devara: Part 1’, directed by Koratala Siva, is expected to deliver one of the biggest openings for any Indian film in 2024. The pan-India film, starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, is expected to have a blockbuster start at the worldwide box office. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Devara: Part 1’ is currently on track for an opening of more than Rs 100 crore worldwide. The film’s pre-sales are nearing Rs 50 crore gross worldwide for the opening day.
According to Sacnilk, ‘Devara’ has so far sold 10,83,487 tickets for the opening day, across all languages, grossing Rs 27.73 crore in India.
Out of these 10,69,459 tickets, 10,27,754 tickets have been sold just in the Telugu version. The Hindi version is nearing 50,000 ticket sales, and this particular version is currently outperforming Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam versions.
It remains to be seen whether ‘Devara: Part 1’ manages to beat the advance booking number of Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani.
For the unversed, 'Devara: Part 1' marks the Telugu film debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. It is also Jr NTR's first film after the blockbuster success of 'RRR', directed by SS Rajamouli.
‘Devara: Part 1’, which was earlier slated to release on October 10, 2024, was preponed and is releasing on September 27.
The film will be releasing in two parts. It is not known when the second part will be arriving in cinemas.
The upcoming Telugu movie also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Srikanth, Narine and Murali Sharma.
The magnum opus is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.
