Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' To Enter Rs 200 Cr Club Today; Prabhas-Starrer 'Salaar' Goes Past Rs 350 Crore

'Salaar' and 'Dunki' continue to mint money at the box office.

2024 started off on a good note for the Hindi film industry as all the holdover releases from December 2023 did good business on January 1. 'Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire', 'Dunki', 'Animal', and 'Sam Bahadur' collectively grossed more than Rs 30 crore at the Indian box office on the first day of the New Year and the ball has been set rolling. Talking about Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar, the new Hindi film minted Rs 9.25 crore on Monday, which was the 12th day of its release.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of 'Dunki' now stands at Rs 196.97 crore. The film is expected to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in India today. Globally, 'Dunki' is nearing the Rs 400 crore mark. 

Talking about Prashanth Neel's 'Salaar', starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan, the new Telugu film collected Rs 15.50 crore across all languages in India on Monday.

The total nett domestic collection of 'Salaar' across all languages now stands at Rs 360.77 crore. In Hindi version, 'Salaar' has gone past the Rs 100 crore mark, however, in this particular language, the film came up short when compared to 'Dunki'.

Globally, 'Salaar' has gone past the Rs 600 crore mark. However, it seems difficult that the film will be able to breach the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally.

Speaking of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal', which released on December 1, minted Rs 1.35 crore across all languages on Monday, taking the total nett domestic collection to Rs 546.28 crore. The film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol has gone past Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' to become the second-highest grosser in India for 2023. 

Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' which released on the same day as Ranbir's 'Animal', collected Rs 0.90 crore across all languages on Monday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

The total nett domestic collection of 'Sam Bahadur' now stands at Rs 90.15 crore, and it has become the second-highest-grossing movie of Vicky Kaushal's career after 'URI: The Surgical Strike'.

For the unversed, 'Sam Bahadur' has been directed by Meghna Gulzar, and it also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
