'HanuMan' Beats Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram; Pankaj Tripathi's 'Main Atal Hoon' Sees Growth Over Weekend
'Main Atal Hoon', starring Pankaj Tripathi, saw growth in collection over the weekend. Teja Sajja's superhero flick 'HanuMan' has beaten Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram'.
Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi's portrayal of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has struck a chord with the cinephiles and the new Hindi movie titled 'Main Atal Hoon' saw good growth in the box office collection over the weekend. The new Hindi movie earned around Rs 2.4 crore on Sunday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk and the total three-day domestic collection now stands at Rs 5.65 crore.
On Friday, 'Main Atal Hoon' collected Rs 1.15 crore and the film experienced an upswing on Saturday, minting Rs 2.1 crore.
'Main Atal Hoon' has been directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Ravi Jadhav. The film has been co-written by Jadhav and Rishi Virmani.
Apart from Pankaj Tripathi, the new Hindi movie also stars Piyush Mishra, Raja Rameshkumar Sevak, Daya Shankar Pandey, Payal Nair, Paula McGlynn, and Gauri Sukhtankar.
Talking about Teja Sajja's superhero flick 'HanuMan', the new Telugu film collected Rs 16.50 crore on Sunday, which was the 10th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of 'HanuMan' now stands at Rs 130 crore.
Speaking of Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram', which released on the same day as 'HanuMan', the Telugu film directed by Trivikram Srinivas, minted Rs 3.50 crore on Sunday, taking the total nett domestic collection to Rs 118 crore.
The other Sankranti releases–Nagarjuna’s 'Naa Saami Ranga' and Venkatesh’s 'Sanidhav' have so far collected Rs 26 crore and 14 crore, respectively.
It is fair to say that 'HanuMan' has emerged as the solo box office winner at the Telugu box office. For the unversed, 'HanuMan' does not have a big actor or director associated with it, still it has managed to outdo everyone's expectations.
A sequel to 'HanuMan' titled 'Jai HanuMan' is slated to release in theatres in 2025.
