Will SRK's 'Jawan' Collect More Than Rs 70 Crore In India On Opening Day?
'Jawan' is all set to release in theatres worldwide on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
'Jawan', starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover and Priyamani, is all set to release in theatres worldwide on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The new Hindi movie directed by Atlee, is witnessing record-breaking advance bookings and as per ticket aggregator BookMyShow, more than 7.5 lakh tickets have been sold so far for the new Hindi movie in India. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Wednesday morning reported that more than 3,90,000 tickets have been sold for the opening day itself across three major cinema chains (PVR, INOX and Cinepolis).
Miraj, Moviemax and CityPride movie chains have sold 34,616, 10,500 and 3,200 tickets respectively, and if one combines them with three major cinema chains, the total ticket sales across these six cinema chains stands at a whopping 4,39,316.

When one talks about all-time record for advance bookings across national chains for the opening day, the record is held by SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' as it had sold 6,50,000 tickets. 'Pathaan' holds the second spot with 5,56,000 tickets, and it needs to be seen whether 'Jawan' manages to go past 'Pathaan' or not.
"The overall scenario is very positive now. People are going back to the cinemas. Those who felt Hindi cinema was dead and no one wanted to watch it, I think it has completely changed the whole scenario in the last couple of months. It’s a great period to be in," Taran Adarsh told The Indian Express.
On Sunday, SRK had conducted an #AskSRK session on X, formerly known as Twitter, and when one fan asked him how he feels looking at the advance booking of 'Jawan', SRK said: "Very happy that all of you want to see films in theatres as a community. #Jawan will Insha Allah be big screen experience for all.”
'Jawan' will also be releasing in Tamil and Telugu languages. Apart from 'Jawan', SRK will also be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' this year. The movie also stars Taapsee Pannu.
