Subhash Kapoor’s much-awaited courtroom comedy drama ‘Jolly LLB 3’ united the leading men of the franchise – Arshad Warsi from ‘Jolly LLB’ (2013) and Akshay Kumar from ‘Jolly LLB 2’ (2017). While the threequel has already surpassed the lifetime domestic earnings of the first film, it still trails behind the second installment after completing its first week in theatres. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has maintained steady momentum at the box office.

After a respectable opening of Rs 12.5 crore on Friday, it showed strong weekend growth, collecting Rs 20 crore on Saturday and Rs 21 crore on Sunday. Even though weekday numbers naturally dipped, with the sixth day recording Rs 4.5 crore and the seventh day registering Rs 3.75 crore in earnings, the overall tally after seven days stood at an impressive Rs 73.75 crore in India.

The film, presented by Star Studio18 and released on September 19, also features Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Saurabh Shukla, and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles. The storyline centres on a gripping case involving farmers losing their land to a corrupt businessman, played by Gajraj Rao. Akshay Kumar’s character lands on the wrong side of the case, sparking a series of sharp, witty courtroom clashes with Arshad Warsi.

Globally, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, further cementing its box office success. Both leading actors took to social media to thank audiences for their support. Arshad Warsi posted on X, “Thank you so much to all of you, from the bottom of my heart, for giving so much love to me and our film #JollyLLB3.”

Akshay Kumar echoed the sentiment, writing, “Nothing matters more than the audience’s love. A big thank you to everyone who supported us.”

At the domestic box office, the film has faced little to no competition so far. Anurag Kashyap’s action comedy ‘Nishaanchi’, starring Aishwarya Thackeray and Vedika Pinto, managed only Rs 1.16 crore in its first six days, leaving ‘Jolly LLB 3’ as the clear audience favourite.

However, fresh challenges loom as the Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti releases line up for October 2. These include Shashank Khaitan’s romantic comedy ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, headlined by Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, as well as the release of Rishabh Shetty’s much-anticipated Kannada mythological epic ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’.
