Kill and Kalki 2898 AD
Here's how 'Kill' and 'Kalki 2898 AD' performed at the box office on Friday.

Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, continues to remain steady at the box office. In the latest entertainment news, the film minted Rs 17.25 crore across all languages on Friday, the ninth day of its release. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the total nett collection of 'Kalki 2898 AD' now stands at Rs 432.10 crore.

The Hindi version of 'Kalki 2898 AD' continues to outperform the Telugu version, and this trend started to emerge from the weekdays.

The Hindi version contributed Rs 9.35 crore on Friday, while the Telugu edition minted Rs 6 crore. The Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions contributed Rs 1 crore, Rs 70 lakh, and Rs 20 lakh, respectively.

Over the weekend, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is expected to go past Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor-starrer 'Fighter' to emerge as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024. As of now, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is the second-biggest Hindi release of 2024, further highlighting Prabhas' stardom.

Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world where some people have made it their mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character. 'Kalki 2898 AD' ends with a cliffhanger, promising a showdown between the characters of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.

Talking about 'Kill', starring Lakshya and Raghav Juyal, the film opened to a collection of Rs 1.20 crore (as per Sacnilk), and the movie will now be looking to register solid growth over the weekend.

For the unversed, 'Kill' is directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga. The film held its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023.

Recently, production companies Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment also announced their plans to develop an English-language remake of the action thriller. Kill tells the story of army commando Amrit (portrayed by Lakshya) racing against time to rescue his beloved Tulika (played by Tanya Maniktala) from bandits.

Lastly, it is important to mention that the release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and 'Kill' has impacted the progress of other Indian movies such as ‘Chandu Champion’, ‘Munjya’, and ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’.
