Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s second collaboration ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ maintained a steady pace on its first Monday. And the new Hindi movie registered a decent first Monday collection. The Karan Johar-backed film just witnessed a drop of around 60 per cent from Sunday collections, which were approximately Rs 5.50 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. On Monday, ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, minted Rs 2.15 crore, and the total four-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 19 crore.

The drop from the opening day of ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, which was Rs 6.75 crore, is around 65 per cent. For the unversed, the new Hindi movie recorded an opening weekend of Rs 16.85 crore.

With virtually no major release lined up till June 14 (Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion’), ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ is expected to collect money at a steady pace and record a decent lifetime total.

The immediate release that ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ will face is Sharvari Wagh and Mona Singh-starrer horror comedy 'Munjya', set to release in cinemas on Friday, June 7.

'Mr & Mrs Mahi' tells the love story of a couple, who find love, after discovering their passion for the sport of cricket. The film has a reported budget of Rs 40 crore, hence, the movie needs to maintain its pace over the coming days.

Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, the new Hindi movie also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Purnendu Bhattacharya.

'Mr & Mrs Mahi' is helmed by Sharan Sharma, who made his directorial debut with ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’.

Talking about Rajkummar Rao's ‘Srikanth’, which was released in cinemas on May 10, collected Rs 0.40 crore on Monday, the 25th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 44.65 crore.

For the unversed, ‘Srikanth’ also stars Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar and Jyotika. In the film, Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment.
