Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has gone past SRK’s ‘Jawan’.

When Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ released in cinemas last year, not many people thought that its lifetime collection in India would be crossed by any Indian film any time soon. But Nag Ashwin's ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, has managed to do the unthinkable. The new pan-India film took 41 days to go past the lifetime collection of ‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee, in India. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ earned Rs 0.50 crore on Tuesday, the 41st day of its release.

The total nett collection in India, across all languages, now stands at Rs 640.65 crore. Both the Hindi and Telugu versions have contributed more than Rs 280 crore each.

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt-starrer ‘Jawan’ had minted Rs 640.25 crore in India.

As a result, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has now become the fourth-highest grosser in India after ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, and ‘RRR’. ‘Jawan’ has now slipped to the fifth position in the list.

For the unversed, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ also features cameos by Mrunal Thakur, Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli and Vijay Deverakonda.

Talking about ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, the new Hollywood film earned Rs 2.25 crore on its second Tuesday. And hence the total nett domestic collection in India now stands at Rs 114.15 crore.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has already crossed the lifetime collections of most Bollywood movies of the year. And it is only trailing behind Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Fighter’ (Rs 212 crore) and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shaitaan’ (Rs 148.21 crore).

Ajay Devgn’s ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ and Janhvi Kapoor's ‘Ulajh’ have crashed at the box office.

Now, it remains to be seen how ‘Stree 2’, ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ perform at the box office.
