Shah Rukh Khan Outdoes Himself! 'Jawan' Surpasses 'Pathaan' To Become Highest-Grossing Bollywood Movie In India

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' has proved to be a box office monster, and it has now crossed the lifetime collection of 'Pathaan' in India across all languages. The new Hindi movie directed by Atlee crossed the collection of 'Pathaan' on Saturday (September 23). The movie which stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has taken just 17 days to go past 'Pathaan's lifetime collection which was Rs 543.09 crore in India. 

SRK's 'Jawan' collected Rs 12.25 crore across all languages in India on Saturday, and now the total collection stands at Rs 548.25 crore, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. With this feat, 'Jawan' has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film at the domestic box office. Internationally, 'Jawan' is nearing the Rs 1,000 crore mark. 

'Pathaan' had collected Rs 524.53 crore in Hindi, Rs 12.76 crore in Telugu, and Rs 5.8 crore in Tamil, bringing the total nett collection to Rs 543.09 crore, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. 

'Jawan' released in theatres on September 7, and it has been loved by both critics and audiences. The movie has been praised for its social message and powerful performances. 

Recently, a 'Jawan' success meet was also held in Mumbai, and it was attended by SRK, Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Sethupathi, Atlee, Anirudh Ravichander, Ridhi Dogra and director Atlee. It was there that SRK revealed that many crew members from the South shifted to Mumbai for four years.

Talking about 'Jawan', the movie directed by Atlee also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in leading roles. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, ‘Jawan’ features Shah Rukh Khan in the dual role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. It also stars Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances.

The movie also features Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan and Aaliyah Qureishi in pivotal roles.

SRK will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' which will be releasing in theatres on December 22, 2023. The movie also stars Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani, and as per several reports, Vicky Kaushal will also be having a special appearance in the movie.
