Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon’s ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ Enters Rs 50 Crore Club In India
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s latest rom-com ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ is continuing to rake in the moolah.
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s first collaboration, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, opened to mixed reviews from critics. However, the unique love story seems to have struck a chord with the viewers as it is maintaining the momentum at the box office. The new Hindi movie, which released in cinemas on February 9, continues to win over the viewers and has been minting money at a steady pace. ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ witnessed a surge in collections over its second weekend.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 6 crore on Sunday, which was the 10th day of its release.
The total nett domestic collection of ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ now stands at Rs 58.20 crore. With this, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer has now become the second-highest grossing Hindi movie of 2024, only behind ‘Fighter’.
‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ had an overall occupancy of 25.30 per cent on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter', starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, minted Rs 2.10 crore on Sunday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The 2024 Hindi movie had released in cinemas on January 25 and enjoyed an extended Republic Day weekend. The total nett domestic collection of 'Fighter' now stands at Rs 206.30 crore.
Coming back to ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, production company Maddock Films had expressed their gratitude after the film went past Rs 85 crore at the worldwide box office.
“Thanks to your love, this family entertainer has crossed 50 Cr in India and continues to win hearts worldwide! Hoping that your love continues to surprise us,” the post read.
For the unversed, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ minted Rs 6.70 crore on its opening day. During its first week in cinemas, the film collected Rs 44.35 crore.
The new Hindi movie has been directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. The makers have left room for a second installment. ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ also stars Dharmendra, Dimple Kapadia, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles.
The new Hindi movie has been produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. In ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, Shahid plays the role of a scientist, who ends up falling in love with Kriti's robot character, SIFRA, whose name stands for “Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation.”
Kriti Sanon will next be seen in 'The Crew', alongside Kareena Kapoor and Tabu. The film will release on March 29, 2024.
On the other hand, Shahid will next be seen in 'Deva' alongside Pooja Hegde. The film is slated to release in cinemas later this year.
