Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' Second-Fastest Hindi Film To Enter Rs 300 Crore Club

'Gadar 2' starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma released in the theatres on August 11, and in the latest entertainment news, the Anil Sharma directorial has entered the Rs 300 crore club inside just eight days. With this, the new movie has become the second-fastest Hindi film to cross the Rs 300 crore club after Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham-starrer 'Pathaan'.
'Pathaan' directed by Siddharth Anand had entered the Rs 300 crore club within seven days. Now, it needs to be seen whether 'Gadar 2' manages to break the record of 'Pathaan' (Rs 543 crore) to become the highest-grossing Hindi movie in India.
In the latest entertainment news, 'Gadar 2' on Friday collected Rs 20.50 crore and now the total nett collection of the movie stands at Rs 305.13 crore , as reported by trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The movie is expected to witness a rise in collections over Saturday and Sunday, and it will decide how much the movie will potentially make.

Talking about 'OMG 2' starring Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi, the new Hindi movie collected Rs 6.03 crore on Friday, and the total collection of the movie stands at Rs 91.08 crore after eight days. 'OMG 2' directed by Amit Rai will be breaching the Rs 100 crore mark over the weekend.

On its opening day, ‘Gadar 2’ minted Rs 40.1 crore. It has been performing exceedingly well at the cinemas despite competition from Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘OMG 2’, and Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, which released on July 28.
‘Gadar 2’ not just marks the return of Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol but also child actor Utkarsh Sharma. The latter is now 29 and plays Tara Singh and Sakeena's son in ‘Gadar 2’ as well.
It is set in the backdrop of the ‘Crush India’ campaign in 1971. It revolves around Tara Singh's efforts to free Charanjeet from Pakistan when he is captured by their army.
‘Gadar 2’ also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rakesh Bedi, and Dolly Bindra.
