Vicky Kaushal-starrer 'The Great Indian Family' has made a sluggish start at the domestic box office.

Vicky Kaushal-starrer 'The Great Indian Family' is turning out to be a box-office dud! In the latest entertainment news, the new Hindi movie, which released in theatres on Friday (September 22), earned just Rs 2 crore on Sunday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The three-day total of the film which is backed by Yash Raj Films, now stands at just Rs 5.12 crore. 'The Great Indian Family' in all likelihood, will emerge as a flop for Vicky Kaushal unless it registers a miraculous growth on Monday.

For the unversed, 'The Great Indian Family' is Vicky Kaushal's second release of 2023 after 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke'. The latter, which also starred Sara Ali Khan, had emerged as a surprise hit of the year.

'The Great Indian Family', which released on Friday, opened to mixed reviews with some praising the message the movie is trying to give while others criticised its screenplay.

The Vicky Kaushal-starrer had opened to a collection of Rs 1.4 crore at the box office. The new Hindi movie is also facing stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'. The competition will increase further with 'Fukrey 3' and 'The Vaccine War' releasing in theatres on Thursday (September 28).

Apart from Vicky Kaushal, 'The Great Indian Family' also stars Manushi Chhillar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Sadiya Siddiqui, Alka Amin, Srishti Dixit, Bhuvan Arora, Ashutosh Ujjwal, and Bharti Perwani.

Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's 'Sam Bahadur'. The movie is slated to release on December 1, and it will be clashing against Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal'.

'Sam Bahadur' is based on the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw.

Vicky Kaushal is reportedly having a cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' as well. The Rajkumar Hirani-directorial will be releasing in theatres on December 22, 2023.
