'Animal' has gone past the Rs 500 crore mark, but will it be able to go past the collection of 'Gadar 2', and 'Pathaan'?

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal', starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri and Shakti Kapoor, has set the cash registers ringing, and the new Hindi film has already gone past the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office, across all languages. In the latest entertainment news, 'Animal' recorded its lowest-ever single-day haul on Monday as it earned Rs 5.50 crore, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.

The total domestic box office collection of 'Animal' now stands at Rs 517.94 crore and it just needs Rs 8 crore more to go past the lifetime collection of 'Gadar 2' to become the sixth highest-grossing Indian film in India.

For the unversed, 'Gadar 2' had ended its theatrical run with Rs 525.70 crore. It also needs to be seen whether 'Animal' manages to go past the collection of 'Pathaan' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

The Siddharth Anand-directorial which released in theatres on January 25, 2023, collected Rs 543.09 crore, across all languages in India.

Currently, the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time is SRK's 'Jawan' with a collection of Rs 640.25 crore.

'Animal' will see a massive dip in collections beginning this Thursday, as Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' will be releasing in theatres. For the unversed, 'Dunki' has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and it also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.

On Friday, another film will release in the form of 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire', starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan.

This box office collection of 'Animal' can be seen as massive, looking at its 'A' (adults only certificate), runtime of more than 3 hours), and a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal-fronted 'Sam Bahadur'.

Talking about 'Sam Bahadur', the Meghna Gulzar-directorial which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, collected Rs 1.65 crore on Monday, taking the total collection to Rs 78.25 crore domestically.

'Sam Bahadur' will now aim to end its lifetime closer to the collection of the last Vicky Kaushal hit— 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke'. The romantic comedy, which also stars Sara Ali Khan, turned out to be the surprise hit of 2023 as it netted Rs 88 crore.
