Beyonce Posts Biggest One-Month Total In Boxscore History
Beyonce's 11 shows in July add up to a total collection of USD 127.6 million.
Beyonce has scripted history once again as her recent Renaissance World Tour earned USD 127.6 million over 11 shows between July 8-30, claiming the largest one-month sum for any artist since the Boxscore archives began in the mid-1980s.
As per the official website of Billboard, it is not the first time that Beyonce has set Boxscore records. When Beyonce's five-show run at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium grossed USD 42.2 million, it recorded the highest-grossing engagement ever by a woman, a Black artist, or any American artist.
Earlier this year, Beyonce had performed at the grand reveal of Atlantis, The Royal, which is a new luxury resort in Dubai. For her one-hour show, Beyonce was paid USD 35 million, reported the Sydney Morning Herald, citing a TMZ report.
Beyonce's show was attended by more than 1,000 people. The guest list included several celebrities and special guests. The guest list for the event included the likes of Kendall Jenner, Letitia Wright, and boxer Amir Khan.
In her one-hour-long set, Beyonce performed 19 songs and she opened the show with a stirring rendition of Etta James’ 'At Last'. Beyonce was also joined by her oldest daughter Blue Ivy on the stage for a live performance of 'Brown Skin Girl'. This particular song was from the soundtrack to Disney 2019's remake of 'The Lion King', reported Sydney Morning Herald.
Earlier, Beyonce's decision to perform in the UAE was not received well and the fans questioned her decision, citing the examples of other artists who had opted to cancel concerns in UAE and Saudi Arabia over the countries' human rights violations.
