Joe Jonas Files For Divorce From Sophie Turner After 4 Years Of Marriage
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, who tied the knot in 2019 and share two daughters, have filed for divorce.
It’s end of the road for pop singer Joe Jonas and ‘Games of Thrones’ fame Sophie Turner. As per a report in People Magazine, Joe Jonas has filed for divorce from Sophie Turner after four years of marriage. According to the documents obtained by the international media portal, the 34-year-old singer filed for a dissolution of marriage from the 27-year-old actress on Tuesday in Miami. The filing stated that the “marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” This comes days after a report by TMZ claimed that the two have had "serious problems" in their marriage for the last six months.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a joint statement about their split.
"Statement from the two of us: After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children," Sophie Turner's Instagram post read.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner share two daughters. The celebrity couple welcomed their first child, Willa, in July 2020 in Los Angeles. Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas welcomed their second child, whose name hasn't been disclosed to the public yet, on July 14, 2022.
A source close to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner told Page Six, “Divorce was a last resort for Joe. He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls.”
Joe Jonas has asked for a joint custody of the children. As per the divorce filing, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have a prenup in place. The divorce filing comes days after People Magazine reported that Joe Jonas had retained a divorce lawyer despite continuing to wear his wedding band.
Currently, the exact reason behind their divorce is not known but TMZ reported that for the past three months, Joe Jonas has been the primary caregiver for their two young daughters.
For the unversed, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner started dating in 2016 and the duo then got engaged to each other in 2017. After dating for nearly three years, they tied the knot in May 2019 in Las Vegas, right after the Billboard Music Awards.
A month later on June 29, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner flew to Europe for their official ceremony and celebration at Le Chateau de Tourreau in Sarrians, France, which was attended by their close family and friends.
Sophie Turner rose to fame with her role in HBO’s wildly popular series 'Game of Thrones' where she played the role of Sansa Stark. Meanwhile, Joe Jonas is a part of the popular pop band ‘Jonas Brothers’, which also consists of Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas.
