'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie' are two of the biggest hits of 2023, and their success is remarkable as both movies released on the same date, earlier this year. Collectively, the two movies came to be called 'Barbenheimer', and these two films brought back good days for Hollywood. In the latest entertainment news, 'Barbie' star Margot Robbie sat down with 'Oppenheimer' lead Cillian Murphy for an episode of Variety's Actors on Actors. This is when Margot Robbie, who was the producer of 'Barbie', told Cillian Murphy that she was told to move the release date of her movie by a producer of 'Oppenheimer'.

"One of your producers, Chuck Roven, called me, because we worked together on some other projects. And he was like, ‘I think you guys should move your date.’ And I was like, ‘We’re not moving our date. If you’re scared to be up against us, then you move your date.’ And he’s like, ‘We’re not moving our date. I just think it’d be better for you to move.’ And I was like, ‘We’re not moving!’ I think this is a really great pairing, actually. It’s a perfect double billing, Oppenheimer and Barbie," said Margot Robbie, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Responding to this, the 'Peaky Blinders' star praised her, saying, “That was a good instinct.”

During the conversation, Cillian Murphy also asked Margot Robbie if there was a 'Barbie' sequel in the works.

"We put everything into that movie and it's so good that I'm like ‘Oh no.’ I'm also so proud of the fact that it was an original and not a sequel or prequel, which is getting rare and rarer these days. Your movie too is original which is amazing that we both got theatrical opportunities for original ideas. The part of me would be like ‘Oh No’ if we do Barbie 2…I don't know… But at the same time, I would do anything to be back on that set," said Robbie.

"I would do anything to be back on sets with Ryan (Gosling, co-actor) and Greta (Gerwig, director). Playing Barbie is the best. It's so joyful. so, it's not a no but also I would take a lot to live up to," she added.

Coming back to ‘Oppenheimer’, the Christopher Nolan directorial revolves around J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), who famously led the Manhattan Project — the effort to create an atomic bomb during World War II.

The Hollywood movie has a star-studded cast, including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Robert Downey Jr, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, and Michael Angarano among others.

Talking about 'Barbie', the movie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, and Will Ferrell. In the Greta Gerwig-directorial, Margot Robbie plays the titular character while Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu feature as the Ken dolls.
