Oscars 2024 Date Revealed! Here’s When The Ceremony Will Take Place

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the ceremony and nomination dates for the Oscars 2024 ceremony.

Oscars 2024 ceremony date has been revealed.

Almost a month after a spectacular Oscars 2023 ceremony where India scripted history, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the dates for the 96th edition of the awards ceremony. On Monday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC announced that Oscars 2024 will take place on March 10. Apart from the ceremony telecast date, other key event dates leading up to 96th Oscars have also been revealed.

The official Twitter handle of The Academy announced the ceremony date writing, “Save the date. The 96th #Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024.”

The Academy also shared a subsequent tweet about other key dates for the 96th Oscars, including the nominations date.

The Academy set the submission deadline for general categories for the 2024 Oscars for November 18, 2023.

Preliminary voting for the shortlists will begin on December 18 with the results announced on December 21. The nominations voting period will run from January 11-16, 2024, with the official nominations announcement on January 23.

There will be four weeks between nominations and final voting, which will begin on February 22. The show will air live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The 2023 Oscars saw the sci-fi action comedy ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ making history and winning seven Oscars, including best picture and three acting awards for Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Oscars 2023 was historic for India. Indian films made history at the 95th Academy Awards securing two wins for the country.

SS Rajamouli's directorial ‘RRR’ starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles, won the Best Original Song Oscar for ‘Naatu Naatu’ and Kartiki Gonsalves' documentary short ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won in its category as well.

The win for ‘Naatu Naatu’ made ‘RRR’ the first Indian film to win an Oscar in the original song category.

‘The Elephant Whisperers’ was the third Indian documentary short to be nominated for an Oscar, after ‘The House That Ananda Built’ and ‘An Encounter With Faces’. It too was the country's first win in the category.
