Tom Cruise has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to produce original and franchise movies. He will star in all of them.
American actor Tom Cruise, who was last seen in ‘Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One’, has recently signed a new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to develop and produce a series of theatrical films. According to Variety, these films will encompass a blend of original creations and established franchise content, all featuring Tom Cruise. The popular American actor, who has starred in movies like ‘Top Gun’, ‘The Last Samurai’ and the ‘Mission: Impossible’ series, will occupy an office on the Warner Bros. Discovery lot in Burbank.
This deal marks a significant achievement for Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, the co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group since 2022, who have been actively revitalizing the studio.
Tom Cruise’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery isn’t exclusive, so he can make movies with other companies as well like rival studios including Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures.
The American actor has previously worked at Warner Bros. but it has been a decade since he appeared in the studio’s ‘Edge of Tomorrow’. He has also featured in Warner Bros. releases as ‘Magnolia’, ‘Rock of Ages’, ‘Interview With the Vampire’ and ‘Eyes Wide Shut’. Warner Bros. also gave Tom Cruise his breakout role in ‘Risky Business’.
Apart from making content with Warner Bros. Discovery, Tom Cruise is busy with several other projects.
Tom Cruise’s upcoming films include the eighth installment of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise for Paramount Pictures. He will also be seen in an upcoming Universal Pictures action movie, helmed by ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ director Doug Liman.
Tom Cruise last appeared in the 2023 ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’. The 2022 ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ was the biggest hit of his career.
Meanwhile, ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 11.
