The Golden Globe Awards were not televised in 2022 after landing in trouble following a Los Angeles Times expose in 2021, which unearthed unethical behaviour and a lack of racial diversity in the organisation. After continued attempts to shore up its creditability, the Golden Globe Awards returned to TV this year. The Golden Globes 2023 ceremony, hosted by Jerrod Charmichael, was held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. And saw the biggest Hollywood celebrities grace the event.

India won big as SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, scripted history by bagging a Golden Globe award for its song ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Steven Spielberg's directorial ‘The Fabelmans’ won two of the biggest awards of the night - Best Film (Drama) and Best Director. ‘The Banshees Of Inisherin’ won big as well with Best Film (Musical/Comedy), Best Film Actor (Musical/Comedy) for Colin Farrell and Best Screenplay.
‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ scored two wins - Best Film Actress (Musical/Comedy) for Michelle Yeoh and Best Supporting Actor (Film) for Ke Huy Quan.
Among the TV winners, ‘Abbott Elementary’ and ‘The White Lotus’ bagged multiple awards. ‘Abbott Elementary’ won Best TV Series (Musical/Comedy) as well as acting honours for Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams.
‘The White Lotus’ won Best Limited/Anthology Series or TV Film with an acting honour for Jennifer Coolidge.
The 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony aired live on NBC and Peacock. In India, it streamed on Lionsgate Play.
