Grammys 2023: Kendrick Lamar Wins Best Rap Album For ' Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers'
Grammys 2023: Kendrick Lamar took home the prize for the best rap album.
Kendrick Lamar on Monday won the 2023 Grammy for Best Rap Album for 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers'. The rapper defeated the likes of Pusha T (It’s Almost Dry), Jack Harlow (Come Home the Kids Miss You), Future (I Never Liked You), and DJ Khaled (God Did) to take home the coveted prize. With this, Lamar has now won the Best Rap Album thrice.
Earlier, he had won in 2016 for 'To Pimp A Butterfly' and in 2018 for 'Damn'.
Lamar was also nominated at the 2014 Grammy Awards for 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D City'; but he ended up losing the award to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
Earlier at Grammys 2023, Lamar's song 'The Heart Part 5' won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Kendrick Lamar is the most-nominated male artist at Grammys 2023 with a total of eight nods.
Earlier, Kim Petras and Sam Smith’s collaboration 'Unholy' won the 2023 Grammy for best pop duo/group performance. With this, Petras became the first transgender woman to win in this category.
Earlier, Harry Styles had also won the 2023 Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. The singer has been nominated in six categories at the ongoing ceremony.
The 65th Grammy Awards are being held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony is recognising the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year (October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022).
The nominations for Grammys 2023 were announced on November 15 last year. Beyonce received the most nods (9), and she is followed by Kendrick Lamar who has gotten eight nominations.
