Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has won her civil trial relating to a 2016 ski collision.

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has prevailed in her ski crash trial and she has now been cleared of any wrongdoing. As per Variety, the actress has been awarded USD 1 which was requested in her countersuit. For the unversed, a 76-year-old optometrist named Terry Sanderson had sued the actress for USD 300,000. He had alleged that in 2016, the actor skied into him at the Deer Valley ski resort, leaving him with a concussion, four broken ribs and a brain injury.

It was then that the actress countersued for USD 1 and attorney's fees. As per Variety, Terry Sanderson had originally sued for USD 3.1 million before a judge ruled against him seeking punitive damages.

As per Pop Base, after winning the trail, the actress whispered “I wish you well” in the ear of the man who sued her.

Under Utah law, the downhill skier has the right of way, but both Paltrow and Sanderson claimed that they were the one downhill, reported Variety.

In the trial, Paltrow had testified first, and she told the eight-member jury that it was Sanderson who crashed into her.

“I was skiing, and two skis came between my skis, forcing my legs apart. And then there was a body pressing against me," Variety quoted Paltrow as saying.

“My brain was trying to make sense of what was happening. I thought, is this a practical joke? Is someone doing something perverted," she added.

Sanderson had then taken the stand on Monday and he told the jury: "I just remember everything was great and then I heard something I’ve never heard at a ski resort and that was a blood-curdling scream.”

During the trial, both medical and ski experts were brought in to testify in front of the jury.
