Oscars 2023: Quite a night for Ke Huy Quan had Jamie Lee Curtis!

Ke Huy Quan picked up the win for Best Supporting Actor at the ongoing Oscars 2023. The seasoned performer won for his role in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' and he defeated the likes of Brendan Gleeson, Brian Tyree Henry (Causeway), Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans), and Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin). Earlier, Ke Huy Quan had picked up the Golden Globe as well in the same category.

When it comes to Best Supporting Actress, Jamie Lee Curtis picked up the win for her role in 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'. She defeated the likes of Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale), Kerry Condon (Banshees of Inisherin), and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At Once).

'Everything Everywhere All at Once' released in 2022 and the film was directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The plot revolves around Evelyn Wang, a Chinese-American immigrant who, while being audited by the IRS, discovers that she must connect with parallel universe versions of herself to prevent a powerful being from destroying the multiverse. The film stars Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr, James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis. 

The 95th Academy Awards are being held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the mega awards night and this is his third time, hosting the event, after the 89th and 90th editions of the ceremony which were held in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

The nominations for Oscars 2023 were announced on January 24 by actors Riz Amed and Allison Williams.

Both 'Avatar: The Way Of Water' and 'Top Gun: Maverick' secured nominations in the Best Picture category, and hence this marked the first time that two sequels will be featuring in one ceremony.

'All Quiet on the Western Front' secured nine nominations for this year's Oscars. Michelle Yeoh, the star of 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' became the first Asian to pick up a nomination in the Best Actress category.
